Working remotely and WFH has been mandatory for so many of us recently, here are 4 proven tips to help you and your teams perform more effectively and communicate in more efficient ways.

These tips will also help you set up a hybrid office, the next normal.

1️⃣ Stop trying to replicate the office environment with video meetings.

Zoom fatigue is well documented, understand that you don’t need hours of meetings or they do not have to be video meetings, often phone calls for smaller groups are quicker and more effective.

2️⃣ Don’t try to force fit your typical software to do a job of dedicated software.

Look to leverage tools build for specific use cases
Examples:
Video Updates: taskade, Pragli, Jamm around.co,
Whiteboarding & brainstorming: Miro, Google Docs (needs a chairperson to lead) Mural.
Project discussions: threads.com / Basecamp / Atlassian

3️⃣ Reduce down the reliance on instant messengers and chat apps

Move towards more asynchronous communications.
Have centralised project and campaigns tools you take the time to think about the communications and don’t just have a thought or an idea. This is slowing down progress and taking away from concentration and delivery.

4️⃣ Stand ups lost their zip?

Remove the need for a morning stand up, replace with sit downs, get a better picture of the where you are at, enables people to discuss their problems they are encountering and going to address (also enables conversations for the next day). Centralise and rotate notes, quick, simple, lightweight.
